Seoul, South Korea 2019 [Day 2]

More on our Seoul trip..

But before you read the entire thing, watch this short clip :)

Day 2 itinerary was at Gwanghwamun Square, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong and Namsan Tower. We started using our Discover Seoul Passes on the 2nd day as it was only valid for 72 hours. The pass includes access to various tourist spots around Seoul.

We had our breakfast at McDonald's before starting our trip.

First stop is to Gwanghwamun Square. From Myeongdong station, take the train to Dongdaemun Stadium and change line to go to Gwanghwamun. Just follow the arrow going to Gwanghwamun square and you'll be greeted by this magnificent view.

Before heading to the Gyeongbokgung Palace and the other palaces in the area, you will be passing by Gwanghwamun Square where King Sejong the Great stands at the center. Going further, Gwanghwamun Gate which is the largest entrance to Gyeongbokgung Palace.

The gate do ceremonial change of guard on scheduled timings and unfortunately, we missed it.

The pedestrian before crossing to the gate has the best view to take your picture hence...

Our Discover Seoul Pass includes the entrance to the palaces so we just went to redeem the entrance tickets at the counter by presenting our passes.  We were not able to roam around the inclusive palaces in our pass but I think we were able to see enough.

I highly suggest getting a tour guide where all this relics can be further explained. Wearing Hanbok going to the palaces also entitles free entrance and of course, those pretty photos.

After a long walk the entire morning, we head out on the exit of the National Folk Museum of Korea then had our lunch.

We then walked towards Insadong to buy souvenir items. The first time I visited Korea, Insadong was one of the places that I won't forget. It is a small place with loads of good food, good memorabilia to bring home and of course, the breeze that goes in one street. Don't be surprised that we just walked going to Insadong because for me, it was a short walk. From Gwanghwamun station, just walk straight to your left and when you see shops selling various items then you reached the place.

From Insadong, we head to the infamous N Seoul Tower. We opted for the cheapest option and that is to take the bus. There are loads of Tourist desk in the area so make use of it because they provide the best way/option possible.

My mom wearing the cutest item she bought at Insadong.

We took the nearest subway station (can't remember the station) to Chungmuro. And from there, we took Bus No. 2 going to N Seoul Tower. Click this link to see the bus routes going to N Seoul Tower by bus.

The bus costs 600 won only and we used our Discover Seoul Pass as our T-Money card which makes it convenient for us. The last stop of this buses are N Seoul Tower and once you reach the stop, you will be greeted by this beautiful and of course the steep way heading up to the park.

It was the freshest breeze I've inhaled for quite some time and the walkway was relaxing. You will be greeted by the beautiful facade of the tower.

We enjoyed our time when we arrived. Taking photos everywhere, had some churros on the snack area and even tried the photo booth as a remembrance.

We then headed to the most exciting activity of our Discover Seoul Pass - wearing hanbok and do some photo shoot. N Seoul Tower Hanbok Culture Experience Center is located on the on the bottom floor of the vicinity. Just present the pass on the reception counter and they will show you the Hanboks that you can wear.

The pass has the basic package only, you get to wear the Hanbok and use the place for photo shooting. Additional fees will be applied for hair accessories, grander Hanbok etc.

There are loads of backdrops that you can use.

And our favorite...

There are also some props you can use :)

The N Seoul Tower Hanbok Culture Experience Center closes a bit early so we made use of the time and head to the main attraction - the N Seoul Tower.

And as usual, entrance fee for the tower is also included in our Discover Seoul Pass. We reached the top just right in time when it's sunset. We were able to see the Seoul view during day time and night time.

And of course, few more shots before we leave.

These photos were taken pavilion near the tower. View was so nice and air was so fresh. We even sat there for few minutes, admire what we see and continue to be grateful to God for giving this dream of ours.

We once again took the same bus and head down to Myeongdong since it was walking distance to our hostel. We strolled at Myeongdong, bought some stuffs which my parents missed on our first night.

We had our sumptuous dinner at a local restaurant beside our hostel which serves generous amount of food with the nice elderly cook and server.

Towards day 3!!!
