It's finally my turn to describe Sagada. The earlier post was from my sister's visit.
Before I share my Sagada experience...
A trip to Baguio will not be missed whenever I go home for vacation. It was hell days for me working non-stop for a year so I would always suggest to relax, have a peaceful walk on the cold streets of Baguio. I originally suggested to go to Sagada but our roadtrip last year was overwhelming that I want to do it all over again and this time, on different places (excluding Baguio). Since Baguio is just a few hours drive from Manila, we wouldn't mind spending the night until we go to our itinerary.
We stayed for a night at Venus Parkview Hotel (which was an all-time favorite of my family because they always want to stay there when we go to Baguio. The hotel is at Kisad Road, right in front of it is the Burnham Park (pretty good location). We stayed in a family room for four; consisting of 2 double beds, a bathroom, closet with hangers and a tiny TV. I wouldn't be complaining for this since we just stayed for a night. If you will be staying longer and will be out the every single day, I think this is good enough. It's clean and accessible, it's just that it's quite small, at least for me.
But for the price I've paid (P3,000) and considering that it's high season, it's worth the money (excuse the mess and my sister on the bed). We stayed on Christmas day so when I was searching for rooms, I couldn't find them through online booking sites so I booked directly. It's quite efficient. Someone will reply on your email and if you confirm the rates, you can book. As for our case, I was insisting on paying when we checked in because I was still overseas. They have us deposit at least half of the full amount before December and pay the remaining amount upon arrival. I work in a hotel too and it's surely packed so I fully understand the terms. So yah, BOOK DIRECT!
All I want to do in Baguio is to stroll to be honest, enjoy the cold weather which you would likely experience in the city. I was gonna snap some photos but my father keeps on preventing me to do so. He would always say "Baguio is not as safe as before"; ended up keeping my phone on my pocket the whole time.
I don't find Baguio unsafe at all but be cautious! Even the safest country in the world has flaws.

We walked all the way to Session road to find some restaurant for dinner but went straight to SM instead. Everytime I go home, I would always want to eat on restaurants that I can only experience in the Philippines. Karinderia, Jollibee, Chowking (not much), Tokyo Tokyo, KFC Gravy (yes, only the gravy), Mang Inasal, Max's...
We had dinner and walked along Session road's night market. We arrived early because it opens around 9pm (?). There are loads of CHEAP things to buy. What I actually missed doing that night was to buy some street foods. I didn't even thought about it maybe because I was too full.
HEADING TO SAGADA...
(I'll just put this up on a different post because it's hella long)
