Korea Trip 2014 - Day 1 (Myeongdong)

I know I'm sharing this way too late. And it's been 2 years. I even doubt that I can remember certain parts of our trip. But I'm sharing it anyway.

Finally!!! My dream ever since. This was a rush trip because I just got back from the Philippines on May and flew to Korea on July because my colleagues were going. Since it is a good chance and low season, then I went with them.

My budget was only 20,000THB excluding airfare (ours just cost 10,000THB since its low season).
I never imagined that I will have a chance to visit Korea that soon since I just started working in 2013. But voila!!! I was the all too excited kid so I planned everything, book the accommodation and became a semi-tour guide as if I had been there.

I can never tell what is my first impression about the country since it'll be a biased opinion. It was a dream for me, so of course, I'll look up to this country no matter what.

We took an AirAsia X flight because it is the budget airline that we can afford. :) Arrived early morning at DMK and it took 5-6 hours from Bangkok to Seoul. And because of the time difference, we arrived late afternoon.

After an hour travel from the airport to Myeongdong, we arrived with heart eyes on our faces (especially me). We stayed at 24 Guesthouse Myeongdong (http://myeongdong.24guesthouse.co.kr/) which is just 5 minutes away from the subway and the famous Myeongdong street. I booked directly with them and payed when we arrived. Jason and his staffs were so nice to accommodate and assist us soon as we arrived. Highly recommended place :)

It was late and we don’t have any other choice but to just stroll on the nearest place we can go to. MYEONGDONG. We walked, they shopped, we ate, and I just took photos (because I don’t have any plans for shopping, it’s cheaper here in Bangkok)

I bought whatever food that I can see at the street. From Tteokbbokki, sausage, watermelon shake, churros up to jjajangmyeon. We ate it all because we left without having lunch. It was crowded at that time, not just with tourists but there are loads of locals at the street.

And I should not forget my boys right? Well, this is the main reason as to why I want to see Korea. I'd been a fangirl for ages and a fangirl should not miss visiting the country at least once. I was in awe and all I think of is “Wow, I’m really in Korea because EXO is everywhere”.

We walked around Myeongdong and Lotte Young and head to eat on the tent right beside the subway. This stairs at Lotte Young creates a sound when you step on it. It amazed me so I played with it.

As you can see, there is the entrance to the subway and this eatery is right in front of it.

It was heavenly!! We were charged more than what we ate I’m sure. I can’t remember how much we’ve paid but I'm sure it was over because we handed around 20,000 won per person.

We ate again when we passed by an “ODENG” shop near our guesthouse. So obviously, we bought one, shared and ate as if we never anything.
